Iontophoresis

Iontophoresis, also known as a transdermal delivery system in which a substance bearing a charge is propelled through the skin by a low electrical current that uses the general principle that like charges repel and unlike charges attract.

This method can be used to drive a drug or in this case the ionized water-soluble substances across the skin barrier into the Dermis. A great treatment that helps us to deliver substances that will work specifically on the concern.

Desincrustratrion was developed in the early 1930s by the Société P.A.B. in France – used direct current to remove ‘incrustations’ from the skin. As the impurities built up they clogged the skin causing wrinkles, pimples, acne and blackheads. They had to be removed, that is, the skin had to be ‘de-incrustated’.
